Hope for the New Year

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness…” (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Every year, the New Year brings the promise of change. We vow to become better versions of ourselves. Among other things, we make resolutions to lose weight, to save money, and to keep in touch with old friends. It doesn’t take long before we break these resolutions and begin beating ourselves up. Hustle and Bustle of Christmas

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord…” (Luke 2:11)

This Christmas, as we bustle about finishing up our last minute shopping and running from one party to the next, we should remember those who do not have anyone to shop for or any parties to attend. Those without family and friends this Christmas such as widows and orphans, those who are far from their loved ones, and those who may be dealing with difficult situations especially need the love and comfort of their neighbors – us – this Christmas.
